RNC - Podium and Backdrop

How beautiful is that HD Screen at the Republican National Convention? The screen is the largest HD Screen in existence, standing 51x30 feet and created by 561 Hibino four-mm Chroma LED panels.  Very impressive, especially with our flag waving as the backdrop.

RNC CEO Maria Cino (aka chief logistics juggler) stated this morning she chose the impressive backdrop to help viewers feel more connected to the many speakers that will be viewed via the big screen.  Cino's goal is to convey the candid and personal tone that has been part of McCain's campaign with the stage set.  We will probably see more HD screens at conferences this year for that very same reason.

You may have also noticed the very simple podium.  The podium area, placed just four feet above the seating area, further emphasizes the open and accessible image to the audience and keeps the focus on the speaker.

While the gigantic screen is amazing, it's probably not for every event.  This convention has a $58 million dollar event budget.  Very impressive event.
